Holy Trinity Church is Latin cross plan with north and south transepts and a steeple positioned centrally at the west end. It was completed in 1827, and was originally intended to seat 1000 having three galleries.

It was completed in 1827, and was originally intended to seat 1000 having three galleries. The interior has been altered over the years, the west gallery was removed in 1861 and the north and south in 1901. More recently in 1986 the crypt was opened up to form meeting rooms. Then in 2003 a complete re-ordering was carried out creating a new east entrance into the crypt, five meetings rooms and a kitchen.
The church is ashlar-faced sandstone with pitched Westmorland slate roofs. The roofs are concealed behind castellated sandstone parapets. Lancet windows in leaded clear Georgian glass except for the east window which is Victorian stained glass.
The interior has been altered over the years, the west gallery was removed in 1861 and the north and south in 1901. More recently in 1986 the crypt was opened up to form meeting rooms. Then in 2003 a complete re-ordering was carried out creating a new east entrance into the crypt, five meetings rooms and a kitchen. The pews in the church were replaced with soft seating (chairs) and under-floor heating was installed. In 2009 the lift was installed and then in 2010 the reordering was completed with the construction of the narthex, administration rooms and gallery at the west end.
