1722-7 by William Etty of York. Almost exactly contemporary with Gibbs's St Martin-in-the-Fields, London. A timber spire was added to Etty's original tower, but it blew down in 1839 and was replaced by Robert Dennis Chantrell (Leeds Minster) with a tower that rises to a total of 180ft.
