Nave and Chancel are probably 13th Century, including the arcades, These have been heavily altered and may have been built by Henry of Ghent around 1260. The aisles were re-built in the 14th Century while the Western tower was added by 1520. It is thought that there was a North Eastern tower at some point, but was removed in the 19th Century. The Chancel and side chapels were also rebuilt in the 15th Century. The church was restored in 1812 and 1878, while the vestries were added in 1909. The North porch was then added in 1937.
There are 8 bells in the church. The pulpit is dated 1635 but was purchased from another church in 1860. The octagonal font is 15th Century.
There is some important 19th Century glass, including the South aisle windows by Kempe.
