Ground plan:
The church consists of a west tower, aisleless nave and chancel.
Footprint of Church buildings: 99 m²
The west tower is Perpendicular, the rest rebuilt in a sympathetic manner in 1873 by G.R. Crickmay.
The west tower consists of three stages, with a moulded plinth and castellated parapet which seems to have been - at least in part - renewed. The west doorway has a four-centred head, and two orders; above the doorway is a moulded hood, without label stops, and then comes the west window of three lights with Perpendicular tracery in the head. Above the window is a further hood-mould which becomes a string course dividing the first from the second stage; the second stage is plain, apart from the top of the window, which flows up into it; and then comes the top stage of the tower, which is set back from the buttresses which have become pilaster strips at this point. The top stage contains a two - light belfry window pierced with diamond-shaped lattice work. There is an octagonal stair-turret in the north-east corner of the tower; the north, south, and east faces also have belfry openings of similar character in the top stage, and on the south, face there is a similar opening also with pierced lattice work in the second stage as well. In this case the lower window is not quite exactly beneath the one in the third stage.
The south porch has a four-centred entrance arch with plain chamfered imposts. The nave has two two-light windows with Perpendicular tracery, symmetricallyplaced on either side of the porch. In the north wall of the nave is a single window of the same character, placed centrally - i.e. opposite the south entrance.
The chancel south window is more Decorated than Perpendicular in character and has two trefoiled lights with a quatrefoil in the head; the north window is of the same form, but the east window is once again, fully Perpendicular with three main lights and a traceried head. The flowing shapes of the stonework of the 19th century windows and the leading reflect the beginnings of the 'Arts and Crafts' movement and the interest of its major architects in the Perpendicular style. Over the chancel the east gable is an elaborate stone cross. One point of archaeological interest: the five or so lowest courses of masonry of both chancel and nave stand proud of the wall-face of the upper parts of the building, and the masonry appears to be more weathered than above.
Within the church alI is Victorian simplicity. Yellowish light comes from the west window of the tower, in the centre light of which are the fragments of mediaeval glass. The walls are plastered and whitened, and the roof, of pine, is an attractive hammer-team design with geometrical pierced decoration in the spandrels. The pews and stalls, Communion rails, pulpit and reading desk are all of pine, pleasantly bleached in colour.
