St John's Yeadon was consecrated in 1844 to serve the needs of those living in the Yeadon area, who previously had to travel to St Oswald's Guiseley for worship. The chancel was extended in 1894 to include the organ chamber on the north side and enlarged vestries on the southside. The church remained like this until the 1970's, when the tower had to be removed, as it was parting from the rest of the building. A narthex was created in 1986 and a mezzine floor built above it in 1992. A new hall was built onto the west end of the church in 1999 and the chancel was reordered in 2003. Most recently the stone carved reredos depicting the Last Supper was cleaned and repaired in 2014.
