Built of flints and stone rubble, with a very pleasing and picturesque appearance externally, the church dates from the 13th to the 15th centuries but was extensively altered in the early 19th century. The tower is squat, and broader than its length from east to west, with a prominent string course beneath the belfry stage, stepped buttresses, and small window openings in relation to wall surface.

The chancel east wall seems to have been completely rebuilt in the early 19th century, with pinnacles rising from diagonally set buttresses. The south porch, and the north and south corners of the nave and aisle, also have pinnacles. Much of the window tracery is 19th century, though the south windol, of the aisle has two Perpendicular lights under a square head. The south doorway is late 13th century.
The interior is disappointing and, although the south arcade of two bays with round piers and double-chamfered arches appears original, the character is almost entirely of the early 19th century - bare and white, with only the rather strident glass in the chancel to add colour. The furnishings are all of the 19th century restoration (e.g. stone panelled Altar, pews, font and chancel stalls).
