Ground plan:
Nave, aisles and chancel with a north porch and a west tower.
Footprint of Church buildings: 343 m²
As a result of the damage caused by flooding in 1841 the late Norman and Early English church was rebuilt in 1855 by T.H. Wyatt, who left of the original building only the west tower, the nave arcades, and the piers of the chancel arch.
The exterior of the church is faced with flint and stone chequerwork with dressings of Bath stone, while the tower is faced with ashlar. The tower is the only externally visible remnant of the earlier church. It is of two stages with battlements and diagonal buttresses. In each of the three exposed walls of the bell chamber is a small twin-light window with slate louvres. The ridge of the nave roof is only slightly lower than the tower. The lean-to aisles extend eastwards for half the length of the chancel; these extensions are probably later additions to Wyatt's fabric. Nave, aisles and chancel are roofed with slate. The clerestory has three small trefoiled windows on each side, but all the rest, with the exception of the east window, have Perpendicular tracery. At the east end of the north aisle is a tall cylindrical chimney with a gabled cowl.

Inside the church the nave arcade of the former building was retained and the capitals of the Norman columns show a progression of development running from the square north-west pier to the south-east respond, which has late Norman carved capitals, and the trumpet capitals of the chancel-arch columns. The nave is of three bays with three small clerestory windows set in deep reveals, and a braced collar roof. At the west end of the nave the arch into the tower is blocked by a timber and glass partition. The chancel arch is relatively low and makes a strong division between the nave and the 19th century chancel. All the interior walls have been whitened.
