Canon Clarke notes that:
No book seems to say anything about the earlier church: a pencil drawing shows a simple C18th church with an embattled tower & spire, windows, & an oval window over the south doorway. An elegant font is preserved, with cover inscribed ‘Suffer little children’, &c.
The present church was built by Joseph Sewell of Cirencester in 1863 at a cost of £3500: he died in 1890, & there is a brass tablet to him in the church. His architect was W. Pedley.

19th Century Shafted stained glass lancet windows in the chancel by Michael O’Connor. East triplet of a tree of Jesse in the middle, Patriachs & Jeremiah on the left and on the right: Daniel, Ezekiel, John Baptist, Zacharias & Simeon. The side lancets are also by O’Connor.
