St Crux Hall dates from the late 19th Century and replaces the original church of St Crux that stoood o the same site until 1872 when it was demolished on the grounds of structural safety. The Hall is a single cell building, orientated East-West and the accommodation comprises an open hall with kitchen area at the North West end, an enclosed entrance lobby and toilet at the West end. A small additional building stands outside the North West ed of the Hall.

The building contains a number of memorials that were transferred from the original church, most notable of wich is that of Robert Welles, former Lord Mayor of York which is located on the NE corner of the Hall. The glazing of the East window is of local sgnificance, being the work of J W Knowles of Stonegate, York.
