There has been a church on the site since the C 10th (it is mentioned in Domesday Book) but the oldest surviving part is a fine transitional nave arcade of c 1200, extended further westwards at the same time as the building of the tower (c 1400?). The present font, large chancel and north aisle date from a similar period, the south aisle a little later (each, like the tower, undoubtedly replacing earlier features).
The tower has a major west door with substantial lintel and has a number of carved figures and faces. It contains an early nineteenth century clock (from Willingham Hall stables, relocated here in 1968), a bell frame dated 1739 (James Harrison) and four bells (recast 1807).
The Chancel (pictured c 1910 and c 2010) has a pedestrian east window and some fragments of medieval glass set in mainly plainly glazed north and south windows, a pair of important pre-Reformation brasses (including a rare resurrection scene), and a piscine. There are C 19th corbels for a plaster chancel arch and early C 20th choir stalls, lectern (a Great War Memorial), and wooden reredos (with Arma Christi).
The south aisle has an east window (1960s), plain south windows and a piscine with damaged bowl (C 14th). A slab outside the south door has the indent and fixing marks of a missing brass.
The north aisle has a simple east window (1960s), plain north windows and C 13th doorway.
The nave has the fine mediaeval font (damaged where the lid locks would have been, reset in C 19th and partly painted C 20th, a practical C 19th stone pulpit. early C 20th pews and a pleasing gilded wooden ceiling of a little later.
