The fabric of the church is essentially Norman, though there is little indication of this from the exterior of the building. The dominant Norman feature is the chancel arch. The masonry of the fabric clearly indicates the later date of tower and chancel and much rebuilding must have taken place in the 14th and 15th centuries.

Ground plan:
Aisleless nave, north and south transepts, chancel, west tower and spire. A north porch abuts the north transept.

Of the two-bay arcades leading to the north and south transeptal chapels that on the north side is 15th century and that on the south side 14th century, The north porch and doorway are 14th century and the chancel 15th century.
The tower arch and west window Decorated and the upper parts of the tower and spire Perpendicular. The spire is well set back with two tiers of lucarnes and ball-flower ornament.
