Hugely significant site and building for over 1300 years. Involves Saxon burials; Norman (1175/1200) arcades, base of north aisle and part of chancel; 13th century central tower; 1686 rebuilding and addition of south transept; 17th and 18th century fittings, gallery and memorials; 19th century addition of west porch and north vestry, unfortunate removal of 17th century dome and lantern from the tower; all this in an ancient yard (with an 1857 mausoleum), within a spectacular parkland setting.
