The tower is heavily buttressed, rectangular buttressing giving way to diagonal at the third stage, and on the north wall the original buttressing has been reinforced in brick. Most of the fenestration is Perpendicular but the north and south aisles have Decorated windows. The south porch has two differing windows, on the east side a small pointed and trefoiled light, on the west a square-headed window of two lights. One unusual feature is the small niche, built into the wall at ground level where the porch and church meet on the east side.
Stained Glass
c. 1875
The stained glass in the east window is a memorial to Catherine Newcome d.1875.
Inside, the most striking feature is the particularly fine 15th century nave roof, typical of this area, with archbraced tie-beams and storey posts above, the centre ones archbraced, alternating with hammer beam and archbraced principles, and enrighed with carved figures of saints. The chancel has a plain archbraced roof, strengthened with modern collars. The richness of the roof is offset by the quiet simplicity, of the nave arcade with its octagonal piers and double chamfered arches, surmounted by a Perpendicular clerestory. On the south side of the chancel are a fine piscina and a graduated sedilia, the latter with divided seats and ogee arches under a battlemented label.
