Nave, chancel and south chancel chapel of stone rubble with dressed stone quoins; half-timbered south porch with original constructional timbers, and weather-boarded belfry surmounted by a lead-covered spirelet; tiled roof coverings. The fabric is basically Norman, but the whole appearance of the exterior form, in fact, is 19th century.
Building is closed for worship
The fabric is basically Norman. Several of the windows are also Norman . The north aisle was built in the 13th century and later, likely in the 19th century, pulled down. The east window is, unusually, a single 13th century lancet. The hammer-beam roof is 19th century.
D.H.S. Cranage (The Churches of Shropshire, 1900) states that both the (former) north aisle and the south chancel chapel were added in the 13th century; in support of the latter he points out that the arch which connects the chancel with the chapel is of the pointed segmental shape commonly found in low arches built in the 13th and 14th centuries, with heavy roll moulding on both sides. He suggests that the doorway in the south wall is original, but that some of the bold half-round moulding of the outer jambs has been renewed; the whole appearance of the exterior form, in fact, is 19th century.

Painting
In 1968 a wall painting was rediscovered on the west wall of the south chapel ( it is mentioned by D.H.S. Cranage in The Churches of Shropshire) . Mrs. Eve Baker , one of the foremost authorities on English wall paintings, believes it to be by the same artist as the important series of paintings (of c. 1200) at Claverley in the same county . There is an angel , whose head cannot be seen, and parts of two other figures.
