The West tower is of three stages; of flint rubble, originally rendered. The quoins are of dressed stone and their character suggests a substantial 18th century restoration. The West facade of the tower has, in the lowest storey, a two—light decorated window: above that is a narrow, slit like opening and the belfry stage has two-light Decorated openings on all four sides, under hood moulds. The top of the tower has a castellated parapet. The rest of the church is also of flint rubble with a rendered surface and roof coverings of tiles. The fabric of the church as it now appears is largely of c.1300.

Ground plan:
West tower, aislelcss nave, chancel, vestry on the south side of the chancel, south porch.
The fabric of the church as it now appears is largely of c.1300, with some later windows, but the south doorway — which is the greatest artistic asset of the building - is a Norman doorway of great interest, with two orders of shafts and an unusual motif round the two rrches. The porch itself is gabled, with a niche over the outer entrance, and although no doubt of the same period as the nave and chancel it has two pierced window openings in the east and west walls.
The nave also has a doorway in the north-west corner, which is not blocked but unused. From the exterior the division between the nave and chancel is evident from the change in the roof level, but there is no break in the wall surface on either side. On the north side there are two chancel windows and ene in the nave wall - all three of them being simple single-light windows with trefoil heads. On the south side there is a similar window in the chancel south wall, and two nave windows - the eastern window having Perpendicular tracery, and the western window being of a similar pattern to the bell-openings in the tower, i.e. two-light Decorated with a hood mould. There is a fine east window of three principal lights and reticulated tracery. At the two corners of the chancel are large angle buttresses and the rendering on the north and east walls is still largely intact. The roof structures were entirely renewed in the 19th century. The nave roof is lofty, with tall curved braces supported on corbels fronted by wooden shields. The floor is pleasantly laid with bricks. On the north side is an arched recess, in the nave, which may have housed the founder's tomb; a little further east the rood stairs survive, with a small doorway low down.

On the south side of the chancel is a piscina, with a small opening facing north-west, and the more customary large opening facing north.
