The church itself is quite small, and consists of a single celled nave and chancel with north transept/chapel, of flint (chancel) and rubble (nave) with sandstone dressings. Tiled roof, and at the west end is a wooden bell-cote surmounted by a short shingled spire - a feature shared by many churches in the area.
Building is closed for worship
The shingled spire is Victorian (by John Colson) and was perhaps added at the same time as the porch over the south door. The chancel was rebuilt in 1874.

Tiled roof, and at the west end is a wooden bell-cote surmounted by a short shingled spire - a feature shared by many churches in the area. The chancel is of dressed flint, whereas the south side of the nave has coarse musty-coloured rendering; on the north side the chancel is again of flint, while the nave and north transept still have their mellow pre-Victorian rendering.

The most striking feature is the collar and tie-beam roof, of 14th century style, which continues the length of the church. The Victorian replacement copied the original exactly. The nave floor is of hand-made brick tiles, and the chancel is paved with stone ledger slabs. The most interesting part of the building is the north transept, with Norman arch to the nave, north and east windows and blocked west door. In the south-east corner is a squint to the chancel altar and a few surviving traces of the rood-stairs.
The north window of the chancel uses original masonry and so perhaps does the east window of three lancets with very wide splays. On these are what look like deliberately sketchy traces of decorative wallpaintings - perhaps they are mock medieval.
