Architect unknown, church erected 1885.
The church is built of the local Hunwick stone, rock-faced, and laid in regular courses of varying width. The steeply-pitched roofs have coverings of slate. The style employed is Early English. At the extreme west end of the nave south wall is the south porch, which has a pointed outer doorway with a triple chamfered arch and shafted jambs. Above the doorway is a small niche. The nave is regularly fenestrated with single lancet windows having pointed drip-mouldings. At the east end of the south nave wall is a double transept which is lower than the nave, and has three closely-set lancet windows in each of the two gable walls. The junction of nave and chancel is marked externally by a coping, and by the stone bell-cote astride the roof-ridge. The chancel is of the same height as the nave, three bays deep, and with a three-sidedend. All the chancel windows are of the same type, with two pointed lights and a quatrefoil in plate tracery. The angle between the chancel and the transept is filled by a flat-roofed vestry building with an eared doorway.
The interior walls of the building are plastered with a rough-textured plaster which is of a brownish-pink colour. The rere-arches of the window are of stone, and are linked together by a broad stone string-course. Access to the transept is by means of two double-chamfered arches with a cylindrical central column and corbel responds. The six-sided boarded nave roof has thin transverse ribs and heavy tie-beams. The chancel arch is a wide drop-arch with a double roll-moulding. The chancel beyond has an organ chamber on its northern side, and is covered by a roof of similar pattern to that in the nave.
