Bilston St Luke
Overview
Grid reference: SO 948 962
This is a very plain Victorian church in 13th century lancet style. The external ashlar stonework is now badly eroded and the former spire has been replaced by an un-apt flat roof that the church retains little of its original intended appearance. The nave is quite high, forty feet to gable level, and the nave roof coverings are tiles laid in an ornamental 'fish scale' pattern. The aisle roofs are shallower with tiles set in the normal rectangular pattern.
