Looking at the nave first, the north wall shows traces of a rood-stair in the north-east corner and has a 14th century blocked doorway with a single hollow chamfer and two Decorated windows, each of two wide cinquefoiled lights with a quatrefoil in the head.
Building is closed for worship
Ground plan:
Aisleless nave, west tower, chancel, south-west porch.
The indications are chiefly of the 14th century and some 15th century work, though the church is likely older in origin than that.
Looking at the nave first, the north wall shows traces of a rood-stair in the north-east corner and has a 14th century blocked doorway with a single hollow chamfer and two Decorated windows, each of two wide cinquefoiled lights with a quatrefoil in the head. There is no visible indication of an earlier date, and the same is true of the south side where the porch (with rendered benches) is also 14th century, and there are two windows east of the porch one with Y tracery and a hood moulding which terminates in two crudely carved and badly decayed heads, and a large and rather pretty Perpendicular window of three lights under a square hood-moulding with grotesque heads as label-stops.
The chancel south wall has a two light Perpendicular window and another window which is like those in the north wall of the nave, and a narrow priest's doorway in between. The single north window is again Decorated, like those in the nave north wall, and the big early 14th century east window is of four lights with tracery which is simply a development of Y tracery.
The belfry openings in the tower are two-light Decorated, again related to the nave windows, and over the hoodmouldings the voussoirs are alternately of brick and flint. On the north, south and west sides are square sound-holes for the bells, with Perpendicular tracery, and over the west doorway is a two light window with Perpendicular tracery under a four centred head. The tower has a moulded plinth and a south-east stair turret.
Stained Glass

South Perpendicular window in the nave, with stylised peacocks and flowers in quatrefoils.
Stained Glass
1896
The nave north window is a memorial to Edward William Dowell and his wife Mary who died 1896. By Heaton Butler and Bayn and typical of them at that date with olive greens and flame reds. The subject is the angel appearing to two of the Maries.
Stained Glass
1863
The chancel east window has stylised figures in strong colours, and illustrates the texts:
"I was naked and ye clothed me, and I was anhungered and ye gave me meat."
The window was a memorial a death in 1863 and was given by the Guardians and Ratepayers of the Walsingham Union.
Stained Glass
c.1860
The chancel south window has texts in elongated quatrefoils against a background of diapered lilies and pomegranates.
Stained Glass
1883
Chancel north window is by Ward and Hughes, 1883, and depicts Our Lord being presented with the jar of precious ointment by St. Mary Magdalene.
Porch and nave have floors of pink clay tiles, while in the chancel are some ledger stones. The roodstair survives, and there is a trefoiled piscina in the south wall of the nave. In the chancel is a pillar piscina and the deep sill of the Decorated south window serves as a sedilia.
Rail
c.1840
Communion rails of stone, which appear to be of c.1840.
Lectern
Wooden
Screen
c.1920
Font (object)
Square stone bowl on an octagonal stem, resting in turn on a wide octagonal base. The bowl seems not to belong to the rest, although both elements appear ancient.
