From the exterior the church of St. Elizabeth, sadly, reflects the lack of quality in design and building typical of the 1960's period. The square plan of the church with conical slate roof, plane brick walls and continuous horizontal ribbon clerestory glazing was originally connected to a smaller rectangular flat roofed block housing committee room, vestry, toilets kitchen and boiler room by a glazed link passage. The spaces between the functionally distinct brick blocks have since been filled in, crudely, with brickwork of different character. The simple brick bell tower, originally separate from the other elements of the church has been connected with a glazed flat roofed entrance. The tower is now embellished with mobile phone transmitter equipment and further disfigured with vandal proofed flood lights and defensive signing. Whatever the message the original design statement may have been intended to carry the alterations this church has been subjected to have in no way helped its cause. The interior has not been inspected.
