A long low church of simple plan with massive buttresses to the west end gable wall and double open bell-cote. Unusually the church remains lime washed. There is considerable historical perspective with the church dating from C12th with alterations and additions in the C13th, C14th, C15th, C17th and with restorations in 1821 and 1888 by C.J. Ferguson. The juxtaposition of C14th porch with C17th 2-light rectangular hollow chamfered windows is an immediate indicator of unashamed adaptation over time as a response to changing attitudes. Evidence of change over time has not been effaced by the often heavy handed pandemic of C19th Gothic Revival style. The open collar truss roof dates from the C19th restorations. There are several commemorative wall plaques.
