Description of Archaeology and History
A mediaeval church that underwent two re-buildings in the 19th century.
Exterior Description
The only mediaeval parts which survive are the north doorway and outer arch of the porch tower; the fabric of the tower also appears to be substantially mediaeval. The walls of the 19th century nave, the chancel, and transept are of coursed Kentish ragstone and the roof coverings are of tiles. The tower is squat, lower than the ridge level of the nave, and is capped by an octagonal broached spire coursed with oak shingles. The east elevation is an unusual design: two lancets set wide apart and a prominent buttress in between, surmounted by a large roundel.
