West Silverton: St Barnabas

A plain straightforward building of brick with stone dressings, and buttresses which alternate along the north and south sides of the nave with pairs of two-light windows, set in square frames. At the west end is a two-light window with tracery, flanked by two single light windows', each divided into an upper and lower part - the upper parts square, and both parts having trefoiled heads. Above the central window is a cross, picked out in a darker brick. The east elevation has a large east window of five lights, pointed and trefoiled with quatrefoils above.

Ground plan:
Consists of a nave and chancel under a continuous roof-line. The nave is marginally wider than the chancel and there is a vestry on the north.

Early 20th century, architect unknown.

Interior Description
The interior is quite plain with bare plaster walls. The only strong colour accent is provided by the stained glass of the east window, framed by the pointed chancel arch.
