Exterior Description
The walls of the church are faced externally, with rock-faced yellow sandstone and dressings of the same material. The roof coverings are of stone slates. The church is on quite a grand scale, well-situated and impressive in outline with superb views to the east. The tower has three stages below the belfry stage, with set—off buttresses and prominent string courses, and rises to an embattled parapet with gargoyles projecting from the string course below. The bell-stage is the tallest, with pairs of tall two-light openings on each face. Chancel and south aisle are steeply gabled and the nave is clerestoried. The windows are mostly of two tre-foiled lights with a quatrefoil in the head: the east window is more elaborate than the rest, tall and slender, with three principal lights and a fairly convincing traceried head.

Interior Description
The nave is wide and the interior generally well-proportioned and satisfying. Chancel and nave are separated by a light and graceful wrought-iron screen. The arcades have chamfered and moulded arched and circular piers with plair moulded capitals and the roof timbers are supported by attached columns at the intersectionof the arcades.
