The church is built of chalk, the local greensand and limestone. The west end has no opening, and above is the curious gabled bellcote with its two round-arched windows- massive in character.
Building is closed for worship
Ground plan:
Nave and chancel, with a gabled double-bellcote that is almost the width of the west end of the church and has round-headed arches. The south aisle has disappeared.
The church is mainly 13th century, with some 14th century work. Restoration work was carried out in 1846, and it was perhaps at this time that remains of the south arcade were incorporated into the wall built to block the south side of the nave.
The church is built of chalk, the local greensand and limestone. The west end has no opening, and above is the curious gabled bellcote with its two round-arched windows- massive in character.
The south wall of the nave has one small lancet window in the middle bay of the blocked arcade and a larger window with Y-tracery. One capital from the arcade remains. The pattern of.windows is repeated on the north side of the nave.
The chancel north wall is blank; its south side has one very small, low-set, lancet window; while the east wall has a three-light window with intersecting tracery. The east window, the centre light of which contains a stained glass Crucifixion, is the main source of light.
Stained Glass
1912
The East Window contains stained glass in the middle light, depicting the Crucifixion. It is by Rushbury and is dated 1912.
The walls are plastered and whitened. There are seven plain memorialtablets to the Harneis family ranked along the north walls of nave and chancel. Amidst this plainness, the ornate Decorated canopy over the piscina, set in a niche in the north wall of the chancel is striking. Two columns support this much crocketed ogee-arched canopy. The arches are trefoil-headed and have crocketed pinnacles between. them. The Sanctuary is unadorned. .The plain stone altar has just a cloth on it and no frontal. Two Sanctuary chairs are the only moveable items. The wooden altar rail rests on intricate wrought iron supports.
Altar
c. 19th Century
The Altar is of stone and would appear to be of comparatively recent date - possibly put in at the time of the 19th century restoration.
Pulpit
The Pulpit and Pews are of deal and painted brown.
Pew (object)
The Pulpit and Pews are of deal and painted brown.
Lectern
The Lectern is probably of deal; it has a single brass candle holder on each side.
Font (object)
The lead-lined font is Norman. It is drum-shaped and has a band of saltire crosses round it.
