Built entirely of sandstone with a slate roof. The most notable feature externally is the elegant and convincing tower and spire. The bell stage of the tower has extremely tall transomed-three-light openings with Perpendicular tracery. At the four corners of the tower are pairs of angle buttresses which project above the parapet to form pinnacles.

By A.H. Holme, 1846-48 The chancel was added in 1886.
Exterior Description
Built entirely of sandstone with a slate roof. The most notable feature externally is the elegant and convincing tower and spire. The bell stage of the tower has extremely tall transomed-three-light openings with Perpendicular tracery. At the four corners of the tower are pairs of angle buttresses which project above the parapet to form pinnacles. The spire is tall, slender and•recessed and has two tiers of lucarnes. The fenestration of the building is Perpendicular in style.

Interior Description
The interior is plastered and. whitened. In 1886 the chancel was lengthened and the pulpit and font erected in their present positions. All that remains of the original east end and fittings is a small number of Minton tiles. The end bays of the transepts are partitioned and house staircases to the galleries.. The timber roof construction is of the hammer beam type.
