A truly unique architectural experience. All architectural decorative features are based on forms unfamiliar in traditional church architecture. The church is on or near to the site of the mediaeval church that was totally demolished before the building of the present church in 1840-42. The entire design of the church is the very personal expression of Sarah Losh who built the church at her own expense using local labour. Sculptural stonework by William Hindson with considerable symbolism embodied in the extremely unusual plant and animal forms used. The recessed, round headed niches to the Apse with deep, narrow round headed clerestory stained glass windows and the raking high level windows to the west gable are particularly unusual. The lectern and pulpit are of chestnut on bog oak stands representing an eagle and a stork. The font is of carved alabaster and is believed to have been carved by Sarah Losh herself.
