Exterior Description
The chapel is of little architectural pretension, being simply a rectangular box with three Y-traceried windows in the north and south walls, each bay marked by simple buttresses. In the west wall, above the hipped roof of the porch, are three small lancets, and the gable supports a bell-cote under a small gablet (now empty). The porch has the entrance to the church on the north side and a tiny window to the south. At the opposite end of the building is a five-sided apse with large windows in the three easternmost faces each with a trefoiled head. The foundation stone is at the foot of a south-east buttress and shows nothing but an incised cross although there may be an inscription below the present ground level.
Interior
Interior Description
The interior is also severely plain, the walls banded with some courses of blue-black bricks and stone. The floor is tiled in the central alley (save for a gaping void where a grille covering the heating system has been removed) and of timber boards under the pews. The roof, of very thin scantlings, has tie-beams with kingposts and braces to each bay. Liturgically, the church is divided by a pine screen of plain appearance one bay from the east, beyond which formerly stood an organ and stalls for the choir, leaving the apse to contain the altar table and reredos.
