A small well proportioned C19th church of a scale that fits well in the streetscape of Pooley Bridge. The roof of random and diminishing slate extends without step over the whole of the church in uninterrupted planes brought down to low eaves on both sides of the church. The robustly proportioned stone bellcote with conical slated spire is carried over the west gable wall and a three bay arcaded narthex at the west end. This device provides a particularly successful sense of arrival to the church. The bay immediately inside the entrance porch has been glazed in in a most sensitive manner to provide a draught lobby. The single space body of the church has a well executed open timber roof of braced collar tie trusses carried down to stone corbels below wall head height. There are three stained glass lancet windows to the sanctuary east gable wall and a single stained glass window to the west gable wall. Externally the walling masonry is of buff coloured carboniferous limestone roughly squared and laid random coursed between tooled red sandstone window and door surrounds, plinth course and string course. Quoin stones are of red sandstone, rock faced with draughted margins to give extra visual weight to the composition. There is a very small vestry with separate entrance to the outside at the south east corner of the sanctuary.
