The church was built in an exposed coastal location c.1890 and is constructed of blue slate rubble walls with sandstone details. It is not listed as being of special architectural or historic interest and there appears no reason to question that. Therefore its significance, in terms of its heritage value is limited, although its value to the community may be much higher. Perhaps the most significant and striking feature is the modern west window designed by Peter Strong which has images of, among other things, fish and miners.
Building is open for worship
There is a war memorial in the shape of a cross to the north of the church but it is not listed. There are 18 war graves.
