Standing like a refined field barn in a pasture graveyard, a displaced village chapel, the chancel arch bellcote and buttresses belie the buildings sanctified purpose. Otherwise typical of its period, its peculiar notoriety is the stained glass blind man with two right feet, though the sanctuary rug incorporating woven nylon stockings is a period piece in itself. Built of local blue cobbles, superseding earlier churches of the C17 and 1813, from which memorials and artefacts have been incorporated, this is a farm workers church whose practicality speaks of self-sufficient resourcefulness. Chancel furnishings are Jacobean in style, the pews more in line with late C19 standard expectations. The heavy scissor-braced roof overshadows the simple single vessel interior of in-line nave and chancel, relieved by the particularly large (and possibly re-used) east window.
