The present church of 1865 is by J S Crowther and replaced an earlier and dilapidated building. In the popular Gothic style it is a simple building but with the most incredible stained glass, part of a number of embellishments to the original building. The Arts and Crafts Movement is well represented here with a single South Window and the tripartite East Window by Morris and Co and designed by Burne-Jones and William Morris. The centre of the three East lancets shows the ‘Crucifixus and above Ascension with many angels’. The choir stalls are by Simpsons of Kendal who are also well represented at Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts House at Bowness. The Keswick School of Industrial Art supplied Candlesticks.
