A church surrounded by a moat to keep the animals out of the churchyard. Medieval origins with a suggestion that the chancel arch is Early English and came from the earlier church but was raised during the latter of two Victorian restorations in 1840 and 1874; the nave and one of the lancet windows are also early. The stone vaulted ceiling below the tower helps to retain, internally at least, a sense of an ancient church. There are two stone coffin lids and a square tablet displayed on the walls. Pevsner says of the tablet "in a frame of dogtooth (which is interesting). Two figures in relief l. and r. Very rustic". Some good stained glass including the west window by Holiday but the pièce de résistance is the East window designed by Burne-Jones for Morris and Company (1875). The interior is fine and intimate which belies the scale of the exterior but the pink painted walls are incongruous. The finely carved pulpit and choir stalls are noteworthy and appear totally appropriate.
