As at Whicham a simple building but here the Nave and small Chancel are separated by an arch. The church is of local stone with some render, a slate roof and with a bellcote at the west end. Pevsner believes part of the Chancel could be genuine perpendicular in style but most of what you see today is of the 1883 restoration. One is struck by the lightness of the interior which needed no artificial enhancement. Although unremarkable in its detailing the interior was a pleasant space. The Stuart Royal arms hang over the chancel arch and there are some 19th century hanging lanterns. Perhaps the most significant feature of the building is the effigy of a lady situated next to the font and dating from the early 14th century; but as Pevsner says it is rather rubbed off. As with so many isolated churches the plate of 1825, again mentioned by Pevsner, is no longer here.
