A large C19th church of simple plan comprising Nave, Chancel, Vestry, Organ chamber and Baptistry beneath the large low and square tower at the west end. Walling masonry is of hammer dressed red sandstone with tooled quoins, window surrounds, copings etc. The roof is of slate in random and diminishing courses over an exposed roof structure of braced collar tie trusses, exposed purlins and rafters. The interior is of a unified design with high quality craftsmanship throughout. Designed by C. J. Furguson and built 1896-9. There are two stained glass windows re-used from the now largely demolished C12th Church nearby. These windows are assumed to date from the 1861 renovation of the earlier church. There is a fine marble bust of George Moore of nearby Whitehall and a commemorative plaque of 1962 from the French government acknowledging assistance given by George Moore to the City of Paris during the 1871 siege.
