An exceptional and unexpected church, having an almost unaltered 1658 exterior with an interior of re-cycled historic European church fittings installed in an unlikely layout in 1840. The only exterior alterations of 1840 are the round window at the east and, possibly, the bellcote at the west. The attempt to create a complete 17th century church, inside and outside, is entirely the product of the early 19th century historicism of Lord Brougham.
