In the churchyard is whats thought to be the oldest yew tree in Sussex - 1600 years. It's a 12th century church linked with Benedictine priory nearby.
The belfry is covered in wooden shingles, this is known as the Sussex cap. It has Norman lancets, with some stained glass replaced in the 21st century following a fire in 2002.
The chancel has low ledges for seating the monks. Nave has 14th century kingposts and tie beams. 1610 Jacobean pulpit with sounding board.
