He quotes:
18th century repairs:
1733, roof repaired by Henry Rudge.
1735, a contract with Mr. Cope, plasterer, of Bristol: £114 was spend for work.
1748-9 – white-washed & windows repaired.
1752, tower repaired by James Bartlett & Thos: Page, smiths, William Emblin, carpenter, & James Collins, mason.
1755: church to be repaved: the estimate of Emblin & Bush (£130) was accepted.
1756: pews, gallery & pulpit painted by Daniel of Bristol (£24).
1759 – the singing gallery fitted up, wainscoted & painted.
1764 Emblin, carpenter & Joseph Carter, plumber, repaired the roof of the S. aisle (£15).
In 1765 paid £33:7:2 (£1883:0:9) was paid to John & William Veale, carpenters, for repairs between 1778 & 1806.
John Chapman, plasterer, was paid £47:4:11 in 1782.

Effigy
16th Century South aisle, in a Victorian recess. Wooden effigy of Sir John de Hauteville, C14th. He reclines on one elbow, with his right hand on his shield; his right leg bent and his left foot resting on a lion. Canon Clarke notes that his posture resembles that of Jesse when he reclines at the bottom of his tree – not that of a recumbent knight. Nikolaus Pevsner considers him to be Elizabethan.
