14th Century Canon Clarke says that Wickham calls the tower's style 'West Mendip', dated 1380-1440. Thin buttresses, petering out in pinnacles at the belfry stage – where there are 2-light windows with shafts and pinnacles between. South East turret with cap. Four stages: on the West front 'the Annunciation' with lily-pot between in a blind window. On the East side, within, are the signs of the former roof and a niche with St. Andrew in it.

Font (component)
16th century The font at Banwell has a bowl and stem of the twelfth century, but it was sculptured some centuries later. The quatrefoils of the rim are late Gothic and resemble those around the base of the pulpit (circa 1500). The carved lilies on the bowl are similar to those in the lily pot which forms part of the Annuciation group on the western face of the tower. The font cover is Jacobean.
