Berry Pomeroy is a small, pretty hamlet situated between Torbay and the South Hams, about a mile east of Totnes. The rural church is the focal building in the village. There is evidence that a church stood on this site in 1125 and was rebuilt in the C15th by Sir Richard Pomeroy.

There is evidence that a church stood on this site in 1125 and was rebuilt in the C15th by Sir Richard Pomeroy. The original building was restored in the late C17th and 1878-1879. Major structural repairs were carried out to the tower and bells in 2007-2009. The clock dates from 1780, and originally had no face but in 1887, to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee, a face was added.
The Church holds: A C15th 10 bay and 3 door rood srceen; late C19th boarded segmental wagon roof; 1613 Seymour Chapel ; C15th octagonal font; 1496 Sir Richard Pomeroy tomb chest ; 1668 painted Royal Arms of William of Orange ; wall monument to Revd John Prince writer of "The worthies of Devon " in 1701; stained glass windows including the east window by C.W.Whall in 1898; tower housing 8 bells and clock. The clock dates from 1780, and originally had no face but in 1887, to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee, a face was added.
