Church reopened 31st October, 1863 Canon Clarke notes ‘after having undergone a thorough transformation at the hands of an Exeter architect, Mr. Hayward, from Grecian Renaissance to Gothic.’ Nave and North aisle rebuilt, reroofed and refitted costing about £1000. Thomas Bowdler was a large contributor.
