16th Century Canon Clarke calls this a 'Hefty and graceful' tower of 4 stages: pinnacles on the buttresses at each stage. The belfry stage has two 3-light transomed windows – entirely filled with pierced stone curlicues: pinnacles up the middle between the windows. A band of quatrefoils: pierced parapets: composite pinnacles in the middle & at the angles (2-stages, with a ring of lesser pinnacles round, and flying buttresses.)

Shrine (component)
19th Century The church is the burial place of St Vrith (or Hieritha), who was killed with scythes by the pagans. Her shrine was in the passage to the North of the sanctuary (which was made into the entrance to a vestry in 1843, when the chancel was extended over the site of the old vestry to the east.) It was restored in 1954 and the stone brought from the transept in 1872 was raised on a plinth). The arched entrance to a narrow chamber floored with stone isinscribed "Orate pro anima Joan Cobley", and there is an elaborate niche in pier with painted inscription 'In memory of St Hieritha, Foundress of this Church' with verses.
