The original church was probably built in the 12th century, the chancel lengthened in the 13th century and the two aisles and porch added in the 14th century. The tower dates from the 15th century and the square-headed windows from the 16th century. Box pews were installed in the 17th and 18th centuries, and two galleries were added over the north and south aisles in the 18th and 19th centuries. The room over the porch was created in the 18th century with access from the south gallery. The east end of the church was re-ordered and extended in the 1870s by Henry Woodyer when new furnishings were installed. The Millennium Corner was created at the back of the north aisle in 2000 and a small extension to accommodate a lavatory and storage was added outside the north door in 2015.
Building is open for worship
It is open daily, usually open from around 9.00am to around 5.00pm. There is parking and wheelchair access, and a lavatory in the north extension.
