The church is of mediaeval date but the tower was rebuilt in 1875. The design of the top was modified during this reconstruction.

The Church consists of a Nave with the large fine tower on the West end. There is a large chancel. On either side of the nave are aisles. There is a fine south porch.
The North wall was strengthened in Victorian times, and all the other walls were newly built in 1838 or later.

Vestries and organ are housed on the north of the chancel and there is a chapel on the south.
The South Aisle and Chancel were enlarged and the choir and clergy vestries added during the nineteenth century, and the East end of the South Aisle, was separated off by a wooden screen to form a chapel in the early twentieth century.
FONT. One of the most adorned of C 15 fonts in the county. Stem C 19, on the octagonal bowl three figures on each side, except one where there is the Crucifixus and the Virgin and the Magdalen.
