Description of Archaeology and History
History
Earliest documentary evidence is 13th century. Rebuilt 1840. Entirely rebuilt 1904-06. Destroyed by fire 1913 and rebuilt. Rebuilt 1923.
Archaeology
Construction trenches for extension at north end of west side of church in 1997 revealed, under a concrete slab, disarticulated bone and a grave cut with articulated bones cut by a brick wall, possibly part of one of the 19th or early 20th century churches.
