Originally the church consisted of a nave with aisles, chancel with a south chapel and a vestry on the north, north-west tower and spire and a south-west porch - all very similar to St. Saviour, which it foreshadowed. To this church was added in 1897 a triple-gabled west porch and outer aisles with multi-gabled facades facing north and south.
