Built of brick and faced with rag-stone: French Gothic in style. Externally the aisles appear as three gables. The north-east tower was never finished and this gives the church an irregular appearance when viewed from the east.

Nave and chancel with an apsidal sanctuary, north and south transepts and aisles, south-east vestry and the base of the north-east tower.

Built of brick and faced with rag-stone: French Gothic in style. Externally the aisles appear as three gables. The north-east tower was never finished and this gives the church an irregular appearance when viewed from the east.
Inside the church is plastered and yellow-washed. The three bay nave has north and south arcades: the piers have octagonal capitals which have been left uncarved. The chancel is of one-bay with an apsidal sanctuary. Dividing the nave and chancel is an enriched rood beam (commemorating the 1914-18 war) supported by arch braces carved as angels. In the nave is a clerestory of six windows: in the apsidal sanctuary are five windows; the middle window lost its tracery during the war and in 1956 was replaced by a new stained glass window by Alfred L..Wilkinson.

Probably designed by the archiect. Made of wood and featuring interpretations of 13th century French motifs.

Four Victorian Altars: the High Altar has six brass candle on the altar in the north-east chapel is a wooden crucifix, gilt probably French early 19th centry in the style of the First Empire.
