The church building was built in 1896.

It is perpendicular in style, built with coursed and squared stone with red sandstone dressings and Westmoreland slate roof. In plan it comprises a nave with two lean-to aisles, trancepts and chancel. Octagonal turret with wooden traceried bell chamber.
The interior comprises a 6 bay arcade with octagonal shafts which extends into the chancel. Keeled roof with hammerbeam principal trusses. Traceried wood openwork chancel screen and pulpit. Canopied choir stalls and Willis organ dating from c1903. Timber reredos with canopy, some stained glass windows in the aisles and West end c1920.
