Limeside is a densely populated suburb of Oldham. The church was constructed in 1964 to designs by architects Macaulay and Paterson to serve the adjoining housing estate. The church is of modern design; the main body is hexagonal and to the west there is a connecting rectangular block that contains the Lady Chapel and ancillary rooms.

Constructed in 1964 to designs by architects Macaulay and Paterson to serve the adjoining housing estate.
Exterior Description
The church is of modern design; the main body is hexagonal and to the west there is a connecting rectangular block that contains the Lady Chapel and ancillary rooms. The Lady Chapel is fairly small and elliptical with continuous clearstorey windows.Above the slated hexagonal sections of roof there is a central lantern formed from six steeply pitched gable windows and surmounted by a tall slender cross.
