Ground Plan Description and Dimensions

Exterior Description
Medieval. Flint with stone dressings. Lead and pantile roofs. West tower, nave, south porch, north chapel (now ruinous), chancel. Embattled round tower of c1300 with inserted door to south having flint jambs, stone imposts and 2-centred arch. Lancet west window. Y-tracery bell openings; gargoyles; later flushwork battlements. Flanking the tower in the west wall of the nave are 2 2-light Decorated windows with cusped quatrefoil heads, that to the south with base to the central shaft, that to the north restored. Buttressed nave of 3 bays with diagonal buttresses; to the south 2 3-light windows with panel tracery; brick repairs to buttress. To the north a blocked doorway with hood mould; 1 3-light window with panel tracery; the third bay has a blocked 4-centred arch with line of shallow pitched roof above now enclosing a Y-tracery window; to north of this the ruins of a chapel with some stone reveals remaining of a large north window. Chancel, buttressed to south with diagonal buttresses. South wall probably re-faced with knapped flints in C19. To south one restored Y-tracery window; priests door with chamfered reveals and hood mould; one C19 2-light Decorated window. East window Decorated of 3 lights. No windows to north; base of rood stair; blocked triangular headed door. 2-storey porch to first south nave bay with diagonal buttresses. Cusped lights in east and west walls; external stair to east with quatrefoil lights. Archway with shafts having polygonal abaci, arch with roll and fillet moulding and a deep hollow to continuous inner and outer orders; hood mould. Cusped niche over. Above this, the roof probably having been raised, is a cusped light with brick reveals; square hood mould. Nave doorway with slender shafts with fillet; castellated abaci with a castellated shaft band below; continuous inner and outer orders; hood mould with castellated base for statue above.

Interior Description
Stoup with fluted shaft, polygonal base and abacus, ogee arch with finial of feathers. Iron-bound door to parvise. Cusped piscina in south wall. Archway to former chapel, shafts lost, polygonal abaci, hollow chamfered arch with outer chamfered order. Rendered tower arch with off-set in wall above; over this a blocked opening. Chancel arch shafts are hacked to accommodate C15 rood screen, the panels now lost. Chancel arch with hollow chamfer with deep hollow to outer and inner continuous orders. 4 re-used poppyhead bench ends with intersecting tracery and quatrefoils. Blocked north door with continuous chamfer. Restored ogee-headed drop-sill sedilia and piscina with crocketted finials, cusps and rosettes. C19 roofs. C19 font.
